Textbooks for the year 2018-19 updated by NCERT as per suggestions received
New Delhi: Textbooks for the year 2018-19 updated by National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) as per suggestions received from approximately 700 teachers.
On 23rd March 2018, Shri Upendra Kushwaha informed the Rajya Sabha in a written reply that NCERT has undertaken a review of all its textbooks, which were developed as a follow-up of the National Curriculum Framework, 2005. The information or reply was against a question asked by the Rajya Sabha.
He narrated in this regard, NCERT created a web portal through which suggestions from teachers were invited. NCERT received suggestions from approximately 700 teachers, which were found relevant for the review exercise, have been incorporated. NCERT has accordingly updated its textbooks for the year 2018-19. The review broadly pertained to rectification of factual errors, if any, and updation of data.
