eBasta A Digital India initiative for students to download study material
The present Indian Government is taking all possible measures towards their endeavor of Digital India and one such initiate is eBasta. This initiate or project has given a framework to make school books accessible in digital form as e-books to be read and used on tablets and laptops.
The main objective of this project is to bring the schools and publishers (commercial or free) together on a single platform. The platform also provided a back-end framework to facilitate the organization and easy management of all the resources along with the web portal that can be accessed on the desktop as well as mobile devices (tablets and smartphones).
This platform provides convergence of three stakeholders of an education system i.e. the student, the school/teacher and the publisher. The platform provides distinct benefits to these stakeholders.
Students: With this platform, students will have their eBastas (weightless, anytime and anywhere access) with interactive and dynamic content augmented with text, charts, graphics, videos and auxiliary resources.
Schools/Teachers: Schools have all the flexibility to logically organize or create eBastas for the students with eBooks and other contents. The schools or educators can choose and bundle the content which could be text, simulation, animations, audio books, videos, etc in accordance with their teaching methodology. In addition, schools can also review the content, provide their comments/feedback and rate the eContents.
Publisher: They will have a single platform to reach out to the schools/teachers across the country. They can register, sell and distribute ebooks and related content without any delay and inconvenience. Through the platform, they will get direct feedback from schools/teachers and students, which in turn will help in revising the content as soon as possible.
The eBasta App can be freely downloadable from the portal, runs on any Android/ Windows Device. Click here for various options.
