CBSE has instructed all its affiliated schools to celebrate Rashtriya Ekta Diwas on 31st October 2018 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhai Patel.
The birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhai Patel is being observed as ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas’ (National Unity Day) on 31st October 2018. v
The occasion is celebrated to re-affirm the inherent strength and resilience of our nation to withstand the actual and potential threats to the unity, integrity and security of our country. Various activities are organized across ministries/departments, schools and other institutions all over the country.
According to CBSE circular to celebrate ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas’ in an appropriate manner, the schools may conduct the following activities in their premises
- Pledge Ceremony: It may be organized in the school (Pledge enclosed as Annexure 1)
- Run for Unity: Schools may participate enthusiastically in the Run for Unity being organized at the state/district headquarters or may organize an event at school level. Fitness and health condition of students should be kept in mind.
All Schools are required to submit a report of the ceremony and the activities conducted on the occasion of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas at the following link

Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s birth anniversary on 31st October is celebrated as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas or National Unity Day. The celebration of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2014.
